They made a dreadful mistake with education
By Darryl Weng
How far left can the progressives become? Their radical, nonsensical ideology has grown into what we now know as wokeness. For years, moderate Democrats and conservative commentators have abhorred the absurd actions of the Woke. Yet, wokeness has persevered through the years, sweeping ignorant, young fools across America. Celebrities are desperate, crawling around progressives for their careers. And Big Tech is certainly no exception, playing money games with politicians.
The political power progressives wield is immeasurable and frightening. Complaining about the Woke has done nothing, not to mention being repetitive and dull. Journalists and commentators of conservative newspapers complain day in and day out, breaking down concepts and ideals of the Woke for readers who are already conservative, anti-progressive, and certainly aware of the prevalent wokeness. No major news outlet in America caters to both sides of the political spectrum. The Wall Street Journal reaches the closest, but its libertarian and moderate conservative readers are already disgusted by the radical left. There are no feasible means by which the progressive minds of this era may be convinced to think otherwise.
This era of misinformation, progressivism, and unwanted ideals must end with the ushering in of a new era of commence sense and pragmatism. If the progressive mind continues its blockheadedness, then it is up to Gen Z to pave the way for the new era. But, in order to do so, that generation must be educated.
Thomas Sowell said it best: “Each new generation born is in effect an invasion of civilization by little barbarians, who must be civilized before it is too late.”
Since the past decade, America’s education system has failed to civilize the “little barbarians”, even as far as cleansing their ignorance to replace it with utter stupidity. Children still maintain their belief that discrimination is cruel, but their minds have been hammered into believing that comparing people on the basis of race is a magnanimous idea. Not only is education itself creating racial divisions, but access to education is also becoming a model of racism. How can Affirmative Action be championed as a model for racial equality? Inclusiveness and diversity have been used to the point where it has become a form of double-speak - language deliberately constructed to disguise or distort its actual meaning.
The action Americans must take to combat wokeness is to fix America’s education system. If education - whether it be in California or Texas - were to be consistent in unbiased teaching of critical thinking, common sense, truth, and reality, then there would be no reason for those of Gen Z to adhere to the radical principles and ideals laid out by progressives. Of course, some might pick up a liking to the books on fascism or Marxism, but, at the very least, such political thought is developed on their own, with education providing the necessary base to develop deep thoughts on complex subjects.
Efforts by parents to combat woke curriculums in primary and secondary schools, as well as discriminatory aspects in the application process used by various higher education, are gaining traction in the recent years. Americans are indeed waking up. However, the Republican Party seems to have forgotten this whole education ordeal, choosing to focus their ammunition on political controversies, rumors, and, worse of all, personal attacks on their political enemies. Conservative commentators from newspapers such as National Review have been less foolish, but their coverage on the education sector was too brief and minimal.
Now is not the time for useless political antics. Let the Woke have their media, money, and disturbing online presence. Conservatives, the GOP, and any anti-radical should focus on the pressing issue of the most non-partisan issue in all of the 21st century’s politics: Education.
How can Republicans, who wish the very worse for the Woke, be so blinded to not jump on an issue that reaches into the families of voters? Even the liberal voters would acquiesce and be angered by the possibility of their children learning such poisonous ideas. When reality knocks on the door, there is no escaping. Ideals and political affiliation are worthless in that very moment. The media and progressives may try their best to defend woke curriculums, but nothing will sway a mother who wants the best for her child.
Even Fmr. President Barack Obama is so bent in providing a better world for his children. Obama said it best:
"It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get to where we are today, but we have just begun. Today we begin in earnest the work of making sure that the world we leave our children is just a little bit better than the one we inhabit today."
The radical progressives really thought they could take their antics into schools, ruining the blood, sweat, and tears of hard-working families. They ought to pay for going against Obama’s wise words with a nationwide loss. 2024 sets the stage for whether or not wokism will prevail. If Republicans receive the backing of more than 80 million American families, the Woke will have lost their donkey shield. The Republicans better not let education slip through their fingers.
